Network reduction: voltage and current division, source transformation – star / delta conversion, Theorems: Thevenin’s and Norton’s Theorem – Superposition Theorem – Maximum power transfer theorem – Reciprocity theorem. Analysis of theorems using open source software

SINGLE AND THREE PHASE CIRCUITS

Single phase circuits: Waveforms, Peak value, Average value, Effective value – Inductive and Capacitive elements - Impedance, Power and Power factor. Three phase circuits:phase and line values– phasor diagrams- analysis of three phase 3-wire and 4-wire circuits, balanced & un balanced loads. Analysis of balanced three phase circuits using open source software - case study using design thinking (three phase circuits in Agricultural land)

Series resonance – frequency response – Quality factor and Bandwidth – Parallel Resonance (RL & RC circuit only) - Self and mutual inductance – Coefficient of coupling - Single tuned circuits. Analysis of series resonance using open source software

TRANSIENT RESPONSE FOR DC and AC CIRCUITS

Transient response of RL, RC and RLC series circuits using Laplace transform for DC input – Transient response of RLC series circuit for AC input. Analysis of transient response using open source software
